About Me
Even though my great-grandfather
was a full blood Choctaw, born on
the reservation, and my grandmother
is of Cherokee decendants, I do not
call myself Native American as defined
by the Indian Arts & Crafts Act.
I therefore cannot legally call my
crafts "Indian Made".
I lack only one affidavit, easily obtainable,
to have membership in a state-approved tribe. I choose not to do so
because of
the continual in-fighting I see in most tribes, that continues to
divide rather than unite the "people". |
My
Mission
With the guiding hands of the Creator,
I make items as they were crafted by those that came before us, using
their methods and with the materials they used.
I will not copy historical or ancestral items.
I will craft items to honor the work of those we are following. |
